Eye of an Immigrant founder, Komal Kaur, joins Ashley and Hailee on a new episode of Behind the Bar!
Don’t let Komal’s young age of 21 fool you! She may be Behind the Bar’s youngest guest to date, but this University of Kansas senior has drive and determination well beyond her years.
Komal has witnessed firsthand the challenges that immigrants face in America. She shares her mother and father’s story of coming to the US in the 1990s and how the system forced her parents to go decades without seeing loved ones. Her in-depth insight into the many obstacles that stand in the way of immigrants seeking legal status in America is one-of-a-kind.
Komal Kaur
At the age of 16, Komal started a storytelling newsletter where she interviewed others about their own personal immigration stories and published them to educate and enlighten. Thanks to Komal’s passion and commitment, the grassroots effort gained traction and transformed into the non-profit organization, Eye of an Immigrant, which Komal created to assist families through the immigration process.
