What is it like to work with Ashley Kendrick? 
Ashley and Sarah Kendrick are pros when it comes to the real estate industry, but what sets them apart is the way they intentionally and honestly care about the people in their lives. Whether you’re a longtime client or a new friend of Ashley and Sarah, you know they have your back!
Recently clients Brad and Alicia shared the amazing experience they had working with Ashley and Sarah Kendrick.
Would you mind sharing your experience working with Ashley Kendrick? How did you get started?
My wife and I were first time homebuyers; we didn’t really know where to start, didn’t really know what the process was like, didn’t really know anything. Ashley went through the whole process with us and made us extremely comfortable the entire time – from the very first call with her.
Early on, when we visited a variety of houses, Ashley helped us figure out what we were actually looking for. As soon as I would comment on something, Ashley would reply: ‘I knew you’d say that. You want an open kitchen!’ She just knew what we were looking for based on what we would comment on; she knew what we wanted even when we didn’t know!
What made you feel most comfortable with Ashley?
At one point in the process while we were making one of the many real estate decisions that come along the way, I was like, ‘I don’t know, what would you do?’ and Ashley said, ‘I’m never gonna tell you what to do. If you feel good about it, do it. If you don’t, don’t do it.’ Ashley empowers you to be able to make decisions. She won’t pressure you and she’s clearly not trying to take advantage of the situation. She just wants to support you and empower you to make the right decision for yourself!
How did it feel to have Ashley on your team as a first-time homebuyer? 
From a first-time homebuyer experience, it’s not just about knowing what to look for – or how to spot red flags. It’s also learning how to be competitive, what the right down-payment amount is, and getting an understanding of housing market trends and why home values go up.
I’d say it’s like a masterclass to walk into a home with Ashley! She pulls up the carpet to check for a wood floor, she checks out the electrical panel, she asks when the plumbing was last updated. These are things I would never think to look at but she’s looking at them for us – it just made us feel way more comfortable. The knowledge and expertise – really a complete education in home buying – with Ashley is such a relief. To have someone who really “gets it” on your team, she’s amazing!
Ashley not only helped educate us throughout the home-buying process, she also helped us navigate our way through a hot housing market. With the ups and downs of last summer – I mean, the housing market was just absolutely insane! We put in offers on over 10 homes, and we just kept getting rejected. We were always second, or one of the finalists. When you’re a first-time home buyer you start to get doubtful. You think ‘What are we doing wrong here?’
It was great to have Ashley’s reassurance during those rejections. She was super supportive. When we didn’t get a home, she would call us and say ‘Yeah we didn’t get it; the other buyer paid cash’ or something like that. She would tell us ‘You will find something; you will find something that’s right for you.’ She didn’t let us jump the gun on things; she helped us understand the process and remain hopeful.
Ashley isn’t only a great real estate agent, she’s also just a really good person. She was there for us the whole time. And Ashley was very firm that she would never let us do anything stupid that would compromise us financially. She always had our best interest in mind.
And what can we say? It worked out! I felt that she was just super-excited for us when we did find our house – because she cares. She has a huge heart and she really cares!
What is your overall impression on Ashley and Sarah’s team?
I think Ashley and Sarah are so good at what they do because they care about keeping their clients’ best interests at the forefront. (And they both work way too hard!)
When it comes to Sarah, she’s just a complete creative and design whiz! We didn’t work with her as much, but getting to know Ashley and Sarah both has been incredible. To see what they’re accomplishing – and the vision and ideas that they have for converting houses into beautiful homes, I’d say they are really Kansas City’s dream real estate and design team.
What it all comes down to is they actually care. In my own work, I tell people that work for me the same thing: The number one thing is to care.
Would you recommend working with Ashley? 
For certain – I already have, actually!
A coworker of mine and her fiancé were looking for a home, and they were going through the whole process. They didn’t know anything, and they had a lot of questions, so I just said ‘Hey, you know, if you’re walking out of these showings not knowing what’s going on … if you have questions, just call Ashley! Just call her – she will help you out. She can answer your questions and make you feel more comfortable.
Sometimes as a first time home buyer, you don’t know if it’s a fair market deal – or maybe you can’t tell if someone is trying to take advantage of a situation. Ashley helps you walk through all of that. She can explain ‘hey they priced it low so they’ll get into a bidding war.’ Ashley can teach you how to get away from that, how to deal with the contracts. I mean, she gets you up to speed quickly – you quickly kind of feel like you know what you’re doing!
So yes, I recommend Ashley – and I will do that forever!
